All of the city lights shone, their dim, familiar glow, but there was a new glow, brighter, warmer, and more color donning every small apartment complex, signifying a special occasion. But what was it? Think, think, think. Suddenly, Renegade remembered. His Mother, Bless her, had told him of it long ago. He could remember her warm voice explaining: ”Christmas Is a very important time for the Humans. It is a celebration of winter, and Joy. All of the Humans seem to set aside their differences, and give gifts to each other. It celebrates peace on earth, Mercy Mild, and goodwill to all.” [/b] She loved Christmas. Mom worked extra hard, to get special treats for each of them. Last Year, she had given Him two strips of bacon, and his brother a chunk of beef. Renegade suddenly saddened. He left his mom, and would not receive presents this year. This year, He would be The Giver. But what is a giver without a gift? But, he had to do it without his love seeing. So, he devised a plan. He turned to Lullaby, and plaintively barked: ”Darling, please excuse me for a few minutes.. I need to locate a hydrant. Stay right here, and I will be back.” [/b] He made it sound as if it were very urgent, and dashed off. Renegade cursed himself for lying. It was wrong, but she would hopefully like her gift. Now, to find it. Renegade scanned the alleyways, running through them briefly, before almost tripping over it. It was shiny. It was beautiful, and most important, it was blue. Baby blue, a beautiful shade of it, too. He quickly stashed it under the boardwalk, a mere few feet from him, and sprinted back to the corner of 15th and 11th.Now,to take her over to the Harbor. ”Alright, I am back. I saw the Harbor while I was searching, and I like the way, err…The sun-no ocean looks on the beach. The point is; I would like to take you there. As a treat, to show you true beauty of New York’s deep, blue coastal waters. But I must warn you, They are very cold.” [/b] Oh, how he wished he could stop laying ground rules, giving warnings. He like-no loved Lullaby. He wanted to be her mate, or even just boyfriend, not her mentoring adoptive father. After All, He could only be a year, +/- a few months older, tops. Right there, right then, he would confess his thoughts about her. (OOC: word count=434)

Whiskey followed Ren slowly as if she was a little hesitant about where they were going. She stopped and looked into horizon. Peering with her blue orbs contently sighing, all those lights were beautiful she had never seen anything like it. She wanted to know why they were light up like that, why humans did such a thing. What ever the reason was, it sure was beautiful. Maybe, they were celebrating their lives or something. She did not want Ren to think she was stupid so she was not going to ask.
Whiskey nodded as Ren spoke to her about locating a hydrant to pee on, she assumed. Her haunches slowly hit the ground as she looked around at the lights, pondering about what the humans would be doing around them. They were probably having a huge feast with lots of yummy food. She then began to think about the house dogs who lived with them, they were going to eat good tonight. Warm farm in their warm bellies around a warm fire place, oh how she wished she was a pet. Unfortunately no human would ever want Whiskey. She was wild and not trained like most of those preppy house dogs. I am sure she could learn but she was kind of happy. She began to think about her past again, it never really left her mind , she ever dreamed about it haunting her. Would it ever go away? She highly doubted it, but maybe it would when she was happy enough.
The woods keep her hostage for most of her life, she had only run into a few small cabins and all they had were flaming sticks for light and they usually outside or inside in a large canister. Once she had gone towards one of them cabins because she had smelled something oh so yummy. She had grabbed it and suddenly a man came out with a big stick looking thing and boom it went, she then found her self oozing blood from her leg, apparently it was not strong enough to kill. She did learn not to towards those places and smells again and as for leg it healed fine, there was a tiny little scar and patch of her missing but no one ever noticed anyways. She had learned her lesson on that one. Humans and good together were very very bad, they were worse than a ravenous shepherd.
Whiskey was quite startled when Ren came back , she had not realized he had trotted up to her and began to speak. She jumped silently and the turned her head towards him, trying to calm her self. She wagged her tail happly and jumped up and down like an excite puppy would when she exclaimed he wanted to bring her near the ocean. She had never been there and wanted to go all her life but the woods kept her from it. She opened her maw and said I would love to go with you Ren, seeing the ocean has always been a huge dream of mine. I am use to the cold, did you forget I grew up In the forest? . Her tones sounded excited and happy.
Whiskey began to dream again. Thinking about the ocean and sun , she smiled hugely. This was going to be so exciting. She could not believe he had asked her to the ocean. Only the dogs she had ever heard of doing that, were ones that were romantic`a1ly involved or going to be. Whiskey finally realized what she had just thought to her self, she yipped loudly but not a hurt yip a happy one. She then thought of her other friend who had mated on the beach. Maybe we will mate on the beach She exclaimed out loudly. Oops Whiskey noticed she said that aloud, Oh well, if this was what she thought it was going to be she did not even care. With any other dog she would have ran away, but she was comfortable around Ren now.
Whiskey got up and stood over by Ren and just like a cat rubbed up against and only then did she notice they were in love. Whiskey also noticed she was becoming an adult dog. She was now in full blown heat which happened to any female dog except for the spayed ones. It was kind of weird she had not had her first heat until she was two years old. Whiskey waited for Ren to do something. Hopefully she had not scared him off.

Renegade turned around and lowered his stance playfully. He barked in an intimidating yet enticing way: ”Oh, and you may have not known, but I swam here from The Bronx!” [/b] Renegade never intended for that detail to slip out. By looking at the way Lullaby moved, and spoke, you could tell she came from a gentle area, and you could guess she was from a forest. Renegade, on the other hand, was harder to guess, at least in his opinion. He was a New Yorker; walked, talked, breathed New York. But, there were so many places, New York City, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Kings, Queens, too many to name. It was almost impossible to believe that Renegade had come from anywhere besides Brooklyn. He had a knack for navigation, and knew every turn to take, how to reach his camp quickest. But even so, he was losing himself to the force of love, walking down the boardwalk, until he reached the spot where he stashed the collar. He paused, not even noticing Lullaby’s outburst, before barking: ”Lullaby, I have a surprise for you. Turn around and close your eyes, and I will put it on.” [/b] Hoping he could do it right, he picked up the satin and lace collar, with its shiny silver bell, and placed it over his love’s head. It fits! [/i] He barked to her: “Merry Christmas, My dear.” [/b] And then whispered the words locked up in his heart for so long, and released them. The 3 most powerful words in the universe. He whispered: ”I Love You…” [/b] (263 words. better than a wimpy 203 :3 )

Whiskey's entire body shook in excitement and happiness. Her paws pretty much bounced up and down every step there, oh she was so excited. Whiskey barked loudly when he exclaimed that he swam here. Wow, Whiskey had never swam for more than a few minutes, The water made her coat all soggy and dull looking and even if she was shy, she did have a beautiful coat. Whiskey ran circles around Ren happly, typical border collie herding behavior. She forced her self to stop, she could not be doing that all the dang time.
Whiskey stopped and stared at the beautifull background when she arrived, she had never seen anything like in her life. The view was breath taking, she could not stop looking at. It was the best thing she had ever seen. She never wanted to leave either. Whiskey;s head turned as he spoke to her about a gift. She yipped loudly after she had turned around and close her eyes, she saw her collar, It was so nice and cool looking. It was the only gift anyone had ever giving her.
Whiskey sat down on her haunches and stared at Ren as he said I love you, she was speechless. Did he just say that to her or what it is her imagination. Slowly just realized this was real, she was happy. She thought It would never happen. She smiled softly and said I love you to Ren, I love my gift to and this view, I never want to leave She patiently waited for his reply. She was in love! 266 derp.

Renegade nuzzled up to his lov-no mate. He just wanted to dwell in the moment of this joy, bliss, and general affection. But, he knew that there was a storm threatening the destruction of this precious moment. So, he unhappily removed himself from Lullaby, and barked: ”I do, too. But, we must find somewhere dry, like the Camp, so that we do not catch colds. It would not be pleasant, love.” [/b] He would have to treat her to lunch, though. So, he perused through the alleys, until he spotted it.Fat and slow, a pigeon stared at him. The poor bird might not have been aware of it, but he was lunch. Or will be. Renegade flew through the air, claws and jaws landing on the obtuse bird.(yes I mean obtuse, not obese.)He broke its neck with a swift bite, and let it lay limp in his Jaws. He trotted back over to his mate. Damn, was she beautiful. Renegade wondered what their pups would look like. Wow, A Blue Merle Rottweiler. A black and gold Border collie, the possibilities seemed endless. He barked to the love of his life: “Dear, would you like some lunch? We can rest under this awning.” [/b] He was not aware at the time, but he rested under the awning of an Italian bistro. The owner looked out, and smiled.

Whiskey nuzzled Ren back softly. Her fur blowing in the ocean winds, the taste of salt was on her lips. Wasnt a good taste though, but she would stay as long as Ren would like. Whiskey sighed softly when Ren pretty much said it was time to leave. All though he was right, they could not stay here, they would get sick. Whiskey slowly laid down as Ren went to get lunch. She was deep in thought.
About what you say. Same thing Ren was thinking about puppies. She wanted them really bad. All though she was only one year old she thought she could handle them. She needed more in her life than Ren, his off spring. She was going to muster up the courage to ask him. Maybe, he had bred before and knew what he was doing, she was unsure about the mating part but new she wanted puppies.
As Ren came back Whiskey sighed, a pigeon, eh? She was really even hungry right now. Slowly she pick up her head and said Ren, you may eat it, I am not hungry. Thank you though, since were mates now, I wanted to ask you something. Can we have puppies? We would be great parents and I am read. I know I am young but I have so much love to give. Please? Have you done it before . Whiskey could not believe she had just asked him that.

“Darling, you seem so eager. All I can promise you is that we can try. But not now, not in this season. We still are fairly new to the city, can barely support ourselves, let alone children.” [/b] Renegade liked the idea of puppies, but New York was a tough place to raise tykes. Yeah, Yeah, he was a hypocrite, being raised in New York Himself, but he was in a pack, A Gang. He was born to the alphas, which also helped. “Dear, What I’m saying is that New York is a tough place to raise pups without a pack, or high standing. I’d have to go make a name and reputation for myself, join a gang, and probably only be with you and the pups to drop off food. I could even get severely injured, or not come home one night. What would you do then?” [/b] He barked, faintly growling as he spoke. He couldn’t believe he had just asked that. He would never leave her side, and would lay his life down for her. Renegade loved her, and he barked sadly, and a bit apologetically. “Dear, I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. I got out of control. I got out of control. I know we would be good parents, but I just think now is too soon. I apologize with all my heart if I insulted you. I love you, and you know I would never leave you.” [/b] Damn, how he hated himself. It was his instinct to take over, and he had been fighting it. Curse his lineage, and curse his weak soul, for giving in to it.

Whiskey was hoping for his answer to be yes, she got so excited she started wagging her tail before he began to speak. He spoke clearly but he had a hundred reasons why they could not have any. She did not want to wait, she wanted puppies now. She could do it by her self, he must be tricking her or lying to her. She sighed softly and sat down slowly on her haunches, her long busy blue merle tail no longer tapped the ground, instead it laid limp by her back legs.
Whiskey was about to speak when Ren started speaking to her again, well rather yelling at her. She stared at him for a second and then slowly crouched down making her self as tiny as she could, trying to hide in plain view. Why was he yelling at her, she had done nothing wrong. He was acting like all the other canines she had met. Were his true colors showing? Was this who he really was? Whiskey began to shake like a leaf on a fallen tree in a wind storm.
She had no control over it or her bladder, she peed all over. Why was he doing this, she thought. Please stop, he was turning into her worst nightmare. When he began to apologize whiskey just sat there staring at him in horror. Was this dog bipolar or something? Was it his breed? What should she do? These thoughts raced through her little head about fifty miles and hour. Whiskey took a deep breath and began to think about what she was going to do. Whiskey looked at him and disgust and said First you crush my dreams about having a family and snap at me over nothing and now you apologize. You sir, are an asshole. Why don't you show your real colors instead of playing games. All I was asking for was puppies. Why don't you show me what a male really is, just like the others. Whiskeys tones were harsh and serious. She knew he was like every other male dog she had met before. Now nothing would make her not think like that anymore. Whiskey had never acted like that before. Whiskey stared at the male aggressively, she waited for a fight. She was not going to back down for once.

Renegade buckled down; seeing how much he hurt his mate emotionally. He lay flat to the cold hard ground he was on, digging into the sediment to get lower. He had treated Whiskey Lullaby, the love of his life, like shit, yelling at her for no reason at all. He had been angry, angry about what he would have to do to support them. He plaintively barked: “I am a male, and a dog of the fighting breed. I was raised in a pack, and escaped to change what had been implanted as right and wrong in my brain. I will tell you the whole truth of it, if you wish to listen, or at least hear.” [/b] He hung his head, and sighed. Then, he told the story of him; the long, long story. “I am Renegade. You know that much. But, I was not born Renegade. I was born Malukas, Malukas the Avenger. My brother Toruque, the Awaited, and I were the sons of Alphas Remus the Brave and Cora the Gentle. We had the life, an amazing mom, the bravest dad in the pack… The Pack itself was called Bronx Bullions. Though I never understood why. Anyways, so my brother and I had the pack’s alphas as parents, so we took the customary roles as Betas. I was older than Toruque, so I was to become Alpha next. But, I had to have training, first. I was to either train in fighting or hunting. Mom took one good look at me, and assigned me to be a fighter. Toruque was a hunter. So, my good old dad hooked me up with Argall the Malevolent. He was my dad’s right hand man, err, dog. He taught me everything I know, and everything he knew. He taught me to do this…” [/b] Renegade got up from his crouch, low, yet just high enough to do a barrel roll and turning into a flip and finally stabbing his claws into a stray trash bag. He explained it was called a Ragdoll, and that you do it to shake off an enemy. He then resumed his story. “But, I didn’t like the values taught to me. Slaughter, Torture, Murder, all killing methods possible were taught to me. I thought that I could just fight honorably, and withstand the pressure of being a fighter. I was wrong. Because In the Bronx Bullions Pack, there was no ‘Guarding the camp and that’s it.’ There, each fighter was a trained assailant, assassin, and an impenetrable force. I broke my foot, and that was in a practice battle, against a dog that had been fighting for a day longer than me. I was sent to the Healer until the time of titling came. I was to take the position of Alpha, but I knew I couldn’t. I couldn’t lead a pack of ruthless dogs into battle. I wanted to lead a pack, but an honorable pack, not a pack of horrendous killers. So, I declined. I said, in my strongest voice: ‘No. I do not accept this responsibility. I pass along the duty to Toruque the Awaited.’ Normally, passing along an opportunity that big meant that I would become an Omega. So, my mother took matters into her own paws. She told my father, fuming, that she would try to convince me otherwise. Instead she muttered into my ear: ‘Run!’ So I did. I ran past the borders of our territory, past our area of The Bronx, until I got to the Harlem River. I swam across. Damn was it cold, and it was a log swim, too. I dawdled around in Manhattan for three months. I was a bad dog. I went by the name Renegade, because those were the last words my father yelled at me as I left. Actually, It was Renagadier!, but Renegade sounded cooler. Also, It was more intimidating than Malukas, and humbler than Malukas the Avenger. I was Renegade the Avenger, sort of Dogfather in my Gang, but I was crushed. Physically, and emotionally. A Bull Mastiff…” [/b] Cough cough… Horse [/b] cough cough. “…Came in and decided to push everyone around. I fought for my gang, spared its members, but as a gang, we were left broken and crushed. All of my family, gang family, left Manhattan, so I did too. I swam again, in the damn cold Water. Then, I came to Brooklyn, searching for a home and a street reputation. I hoped to meet someone from my gang, but my luck had not been very good ever since Manhattan. But I found a home, met a gal, hooked up, and treated her nice. Then I lost control, pissed her off, and explained everything to her. I then decided that puppies would not be so bad, and I begged for forgiveness while ending my story.” [/b] He struggled to his feet, and barked: “I love you so much, Lullaby.I fogot to look at the bright side of things, and caused unsettlement and anger.I am sorry.I am a guy, but a rebel of my bred, and I am excuseless. Please forgive me.” [/b] He tried to lick her, and attempted to nuzzle his absolutely gorgeous mate. Co-Alphess of his life and family. word count: 879

Whiskey nodded as he began his story, she betted hers was sadder. Fighting dog , big deal. She did not care. I am sorry about your past, bet you mine is worse besides the fighting part. If you want me to be your mate, treat me like a lady not a child. Here's my past. I was never suppose to be born, my parents bred with out the Alphas permission. In pack life that was the worst rule you could break. So the alphas of the pack killed my parents in cold blood when they found out about her, she was probably only four or five weeks old at the time.
The alphas allowed me too survive but pretty much banished me from the higher ranking pack members. So how did I survived with out my mothers milk? I simply waited til mothers with pups were sleeping and would sneak a suckle every chance I could, usually resulting in being growled and bitten at. How ever, I managed to survived. I am here because of me and no one else and I certainly do not need you know, if you are going to act like I am helpess.
As I aged, I learned how to hunt small animals and survive. Seeing as I only weighed about 35 lbs at the age of 11 months I did not require the amount of food a large dogs would need to survive on. I was a professional at hunting small birds and vermin and ate pretty decent most of the time. I was in tune with my surroundings and as all of us dogs have our keen senses, mine are keener.
I love you too but I will not be yelled at anymore. I am one year old, I can have puppies if I want, I can care for them myself. Her tones were alert and serious.

“Whiskey Lullaby, I am, if nobody else is, ecstatic and fortunate that you were born. I agree that I should treat you the age that you are, and understand that you could take care of our pups. I guess that I was afraid that I would have to put on my big boy pants and work like a dog for them. I might not have been ready for being a father.” [/b] Renegade felt relieved, he had gotten everything off of his chest. The chains of guilt and shrouding had been broken, and his spirit was free. He could just imagine himself leading a family, having a son of his own. He suddenly had the urge to make it happen, and with a frisky look on his face, he barked: “Babe, we should do it. Try to, at least. But not here. It’s too public. We could have a random dog, or Human, interrupt us. Would you like to go back home? Follow me!” [/b] He bravely looked into the traffic. Once it was the perfect moment, he did a Ragdoll, and dove under the cars above him. He landed squarely on his feet, staring his mate in the eyes, with a deep compelling, passion. He shook it off, and barked: “I’m sorry.I must have gotten out of contr-damn you’re beautiful.” [/b] Renegade was feeling the effect of Whiskey Lullaby’s heat. It was driving him nuts. Absolutely bonkers. Ooc: Sorry, crap post.Really had no idea what to post about. :/

Whiskey nodded at Ren as he spoke to her, wait now he was agreeing with her? Okay, then. What is up with him, she was the one in heat and was acting more hormonal than her. Whiskey's icy blue orbs scanned over him, what should she do now? Now, she was kind of afraid to breed. To many stupid stories she heard but she would not think about them, she didnt want to be more scared.
Whiskeys maw opened and she said Okay, Ren, I understand but you really cant prepare until it has happend. I am sorry for my behavior. Her tones were soft. Whiskey saw the frisky look on his face and grinned nervously. Oh boy, what had she got her self into, she sighed softly and nodded her head in agreement to follow him some where else.
The last comment he made made her laugh a little bit. This was the Ren she loved so dearly.

Trotting slowly until he reached the stream, Renegade yawned. He wasn’t just tired, he was dog tired. So, he waited for Lullaby to catch up to him, before plaintively barking: “Darling, when we get back to camp, can I take a little Siesta ? I am tired as a dog, heck; I am a dog. I have not slept since two nights ago, and my energy is not limitless. I know, my hormones seem to be crazy, but maybe it’s only how tired my brain is. I’ll probably be all refilled in an hour or two. Then, it will probably be more pleasant to deal with me.” [/b] He started loping, slowly at first, but gradually getting faster, until he reached the familiar Oak tree. He leapt onto his branch like Superman to Lois, or a cat to dinner. The night before, after he had hunted seven fat crows and three seagulls, he had discovered anther nook in the tree. He had filled it with crow, seagull, and now pigeon down, to make it soft. He then spread the waterproof wing feathers of the seagulls to, you guessed it, waterproof it. Renegade curled up inside, where the sun had been warming it all day, even now; and conked out in marathon time. He would wake up in a few hours. About 2. And a half.

Whiskey watched Vin closely, he looked tired and he reeked of exhaustion. She knew this before she even heard him speak. She was going to tell him to sleep too, but he said it his self. Whiskey nodded as he said he needed to sleep. She could tell he did need to sleep; So did Whiskey, she was tired as well and hungry now. Whiskey followed him contently to the oak tree, she wondered where he slept? She would soon find out, i guess.
As she approached the tree, she smiled, it was so nice here. The green grass complemented this mossy colored oak tree. She sighed softly, this would be a great secluded place to raise their puppies. She could not wait. Well, she could she was very afraid of the pain of both mating and birth. Obviously, birth more so then the actual mating. Whiskey watched as Ren pounced up into his limb of the tree, she sighed softly, so much for sleeping with him. She could jump that high but was afraid of heights. As Ren slept whiskey slowly looked around with orbs, she figured she would want to sleep after they mated.
She best clean her self up. Whiskey went threw the bush into a creek and slowly swam in it. She then rubbed against a pine tree to get the scent on her. Her coat was clean and she smelled fresh now, she hoped Ren would like it. Whiskey passed the creek and went back to where Ren was. She only had one place ti clean left, her genitals. Her bleeding had finally stopped so she felt it needed a cleaning. Whiskey hid in a busj and slowly licked her self clean, all good now! She then lapped at some water and went back to Ren, he had been out for 6 hours. Wake up, Ren . Her voice was soft and loud.

Ren jumped through a field of daisies. His Mom was there, too. He ran to her, faster than he thought he could. Nuzzling her, he tried to fill his nose with her scent. The poor boy had forgotten what she smelled like. Drinking in her scent, he smelled not his mother’s but the scent of pine, mixed with his mate’s.He told his mama: ”I love you so much…” [/b] He wanted her sweet voice to tell him the same thing, but all he could hear was the soft voice of Lullaby saying: “Wake Up, Ren!” [/i] He started awake. It was just a dream. There were no daisies, and his mom was still in The Bronx. He was in camp, in his little hollow of the tree, which was rather empty. It had room for two. He would invite his mate up to his den next time. He stumbled out, and sat on the branch. He looked down at the blurred scene, and barked with a slur: “Uhhhhh… How long was I out? That felt like more than two hours.” [/b] He used his paw to clean his eyes, being careful not to scratch them. He saw that his darling had washed, her coat was cleaner, and he could really see the Blue Merle coming out. It was ian intense blue, much better than the duller blue before.

Whiskey Lullaby sighed as she waited for Renegade. It was not fair that he was safe on the tree branch and she was not. She heard him stir and startle, she laughed to herself. Well, that is what you get for sleeping in a tree you jerk she thought to herself. As Ren looked down she looked up at said about 6ish hours I think. . Her tones were a bit stressed sounded but nothing serious. Whiskey sighed softly again, well come down here you fool she though. I’m all clean and prettied up for you, so come and get it Mr. Man. Of course she would never say that out loud because of her character but she could think whatever she wanted to. Whiskeys haunches hit the ground softly, her orbs still looking up at Ren. Her coat blew the scent of pine in the wind, for him to smell.

Oh, so, so, sexy. I love her so much. She’s so damn hot and pretty.[/] Ren thought, and listened in disbelief at her words. He sighed, jumping down. As he trotted over to the love of his life, he barked:
”Six Hours? Wow, I was more tired than I thought… Hey, you look marvelous tonight, did I tell you? [/b] sniff… “Oh, and you smell wonderful. I’d better go wash up, too. I think that I must reek of about a million different Eau de Trash scents and Eau de Guy dog. That must not smell pleasant!” [/b] Renegade licked his beautiful mate, and then cannon balled into the river. The splash was 5 feet high, and went everywhere. But at least he could be clean. He rubbed up against not a pine, but a bay tree, and trotted back to Lullaby. He nuzzled her, before eyeing the sunset, and barking: “How would you like to go to the fairway now? It’s not likely that humans on carts will be coming through this late. But, the lights are always on. And, The grass in very soft, and won’t hurt our paws like this underbrush.” [/b] Renegade’s amber eyes had a look saying So, Shall we go? in them.He nudged his mate and licked her ear.

Whiskey Lullaby wagged her tail when Ren's head popped into view, she barked playfully. OH how she loved him, all though she wished he was down here with her. Whiskey shook her beautifull fur into the wind, the pine smell radiating through out the air. She felt good , looked good and knew her mate was attracted to her. That was all she cared about. All though he smelled like road kill right now.
Whiskey happily said Six hours or so , love. I got all dolled up for you seeing as we have a date tonight. You do smell pretty bad. I think I will take a cat nap while you are away . When he asked her how long he had been out for. She was not sleepy then but she sure was now. Whiskey curled up at the base of three and took a little nap. She was dreaming oh so happly until it turned into a night mare.
Whiskey was running around in a field surrounded by young puppies maybe three weeks old, but she could not figure out whose puppies they were. Was she babysitting for another pack member? Wait, she had no pack, maybe they were strays she had taken in. One time in the forest Whiskey found what had she thought was domestic cat and she cuddled and even tried to nurse him, looked after him very well. She named him Tawny because his pelt was tan and black around his appendages and muzzle.
She had only had him for around two days before she figured out he was not house cat, he turned out to be a mountain lion cub. She brought him back where he came from very quickly yo avoid revenge from his mother. Well, his mom did take revenge, she stalked Whiskey everyday until she left the woods. Even now she could still be watching her and planning on how she would kill her. She did not steal the cub on purpose, she found him alone and crying and figured he needed some help. He just kept crying and crying, never stopping the entire time she had him. She had no milk for him but she did try to provide heat and comfort to him. That was all she could do , I guess.
Whiskey finally realized who the puppies were when one of them cried mom softly and nursed on her teats. What a lovely dream was having. Four puppies to be exact. All males besides Strawberry whine, whom was red merle with blue eyes just like her mother, but her coat was red instead of her moms blue merled coar. What were the other puppies names you ask? The largest ones name was Rex as he had a white cross on his chest, he looked like a rottweiler almost purebred but had a tail. The second biggest was Mercy, he was very mean and showed no mercy even at his age but Lullaby still loved him. The third male was Tank, he had the build of a rottweiler but looked just like his mother in color.
Whiskey loved these puppies dearly. However, something was not right in this dream. She was a in a beautiful place, but she was pretty skinny still and seem to be watching her self cower from something or maybe someone. Her body was worn and ragged and these did seem to be her first litter, she was way to laid back. She knew what she was doing here, a first time mothers litter would be different she assumed. The mom would be watching every step that they had taken and hovering over them. Whiskey was not. She looked like she was dozing off, which moms usually did as puppies were very tiring.
Whiskey watched as she stood up extremely fast in her dream and then bowed as a black and tan rottweiler approached her and the puppies. She immediately cowered under him like a puppy would do to the alpha of the pack. Whiskey silently laid down and rolled on her back showing her belly, which was clearly a sign of submission. This could not be happening, even in her dreams? Ren loved her and would never do this.
Whiskeys ears began twitching and he paws began racing in her sleep as if she was running away. Whines and grunts escaped for her half opened maw. She woke up slowly and confused, she had knew it was a dream but their was one unpleasant reminder about the dream she just could not figure out yet. She slowly rose from her lying position and stood up. The dog in the dream was Ren, but he would never do that to her. At least she hoped he would not.
I copied part of it from Grimm, seemed like it a fit, of course I changed a few things up.

Seeing his mate twitching and whining, Renegade shook her awake. It was clear that she was having a bad dream. He snuggled up next to her, or as close as the small space allowed. He nudged her repeatedly, trying to lure her out of the twisted fantasy that was a dream. Or, more like a nightmare. He wondered, what could stir his lovely mate up this much? Just mere moments ago she had been smiling, almost purring, as she dozed. And now, he could only imagine the terror going on inside her head. Their pasts were both dark, and anything could trigger a bad memory. Renegade tried nudging once more, until he tried coaxing: "Lullaby, wake up dear. " CRACK! Thunder roared, and lightning struck the dirt ahead of him. Renegade jumped and sprinted under a bush. Damn, was he scared shitless by thunder. But, fear was soon replaced with relief, as he realized Whiskey had not seen him run, and that he did not yelp like a puppy. But When it rains, it pours, so, Renegade resorted to hoisting Lullaby onto his shoulders. The Ancient Oak tree probably was on e of the most dangerous places to be in a storm. It was a living Lightning rod.
He went down in the dip in the creek, and under the rock cove. The lightning would strike this place, if at any time, last. And, the cave would sheild him from the rain.

Whiskey Lullaby's blue orbs opened partly and then rolled around in her head a few times, her eyes closed and opened multiple times. After a few minutes, her tongue lolled of her mouth and her eyes opened half way again. For some reason she just could not wake up, she slowly closed her icy blue orbs. She could Ren speak to her, but could not speak back. The nudging was going no good, it was not helping her. Whiskey's eyes still would not stay open, she tried speaking but only mumbles escaped from my maw.
Whiskey felt Ren snugly up to her, there was barely any room, it was so uncomfortable. Whiskey's icy blue orbs finally opened, she gazed around not sure of what to do, should she move ? She needed to get her body working again. Slowly Whiskeys pistons rose from the ground, she crawed out of her sleeping space sleepily. That was a terrible dream. She looked back in the hole, Ren was still laying down. He would get up soon, she was sure of it.
Whiskeys heard a loud sound. BOOM, she jumped so high , she fell unto he side. She was stunned. What the hell just happened? Whiskeys got up slowly, it was lightening and thunder. Which was extremely scary to her. Whiskey was shaking profusely, she looked back into the hallow tree den she had been sleeping in, Ren was gone. Surely, the thunder could not have scared him, either way he was gone and she realized she was alone, no one else around, it was to quiet. Danger was lurking someone, whether it be by animal or disaster. Whiskey was petrified, what should she do?
Suddenly Ren appeared from behind her. She was so shocked she could not utter one word. Whiskeys bodice heaved up with out her moving, she struggled for a minute, only stopping when realized it was Ren putting her on his back, to bring her to safety. Whiskey watched a bolt of lightening strike the oak tree, it nearly cut it in half. The tree started to smoke heavly, well there goes there home. The tree was no longer livable, it was on fire and nearly split into two parts. The branch Ren slept on was on the ground in pieces, the downy feather material smoke on the ground.
Where would they go now? That was the only safe place that she knew of. She knew Ren would keep her safe, but how long could he keep doing it. Eventually, she would slow him and down and he would ditch her. Whiskey watched around her as the passed through the rivine, the water was not very high this time of year. Snow was coated on what use to be green grass, it was not freezing out but it was still quite cold for dogs with short hair, her fur was long so she would be fine. She was probably keeping Ren warm right now as she was on top of, him carrying her to safety.
Whiskey saw a cave, guess Ren was headed towards there. The cave would provide them shelter from the rain and the rocks would shield them from lightening and any debri caused by the storm. Once Ren had carried her into the cave, Whiskey Lullaby jumped of of his back, she was stiff and still tired. Shocked from what she had just happen to their home before her eyes. Why, was this happening to them? The gods seemed angry with them for some reason. Whiskeys blue orbs gazed at Ren softly. She sighed and then sat down on her haunches. Her fur was soaked but she was not yet cold.
